General Internal Medicine
The Division of General Internal Medicine in Primary Care is responsible for much of the inpatient and outpatient resident education. The hospitalists group and the short stay unit group provide hospital care for a significant portion of the LIJ medical inpatients service.
The Division's ambulatory sites are staffed by faculty who specialize in primary care, general internal medicine, and preventive medicine. The Division's full-time faculty rely on extensive clinical experience and evidence-based medicine to provide up-to-date medical care. Research activities are part of the Division's responsibilities.
