Inpatient Acute Pain Management at LIJ

The Inpatient Acute Pain Management Service offers patients relief from pain by use of Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) along with other modern techniques for achieving maximum comfort after surgery. These new approaches ease recovery for many patients who undergo surgery and include technology that enables patients to personally control the flow of pain medication, as needed.

The Inpatient Acute Pain Management Team consists of board-certified anesthesiologists and nurses specializing in pain management. They are available to monitor care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through the Acute Pain Management Program. The Acute Pain Management program is now being used for all surgical specialties including obstetrics/gynecology (including Cesarean delivery) and oncology patients.

The anesthesiologist in-house on call may be reached through the page operator at (718) 470-7700.
