The LIJ Medical Center will use this page to post upcoming community events such as flu immunizations and community board meetings, as well as helpful announcements regarding our surrounding communities. To stay current with the most recent developments, meetings and events relative to the Long Island Jewish Medical Center community, or if you would like to express any comments or concerns you may have, please use our contact form.
Community Alert
Over the past several weeks, neighbors surrounding the LIJ Medical Center, along with the 105th Precinct, have advised the LIJ Medical Center's Security Department of an increase in vandalism to vehicles in the surrounding neighborhoods. Three vehicles were vandalized on the third floor of the visitors' garage on February 19, 2009.
We have reminded all employees to remove important personal property (handbags, wallets, briefcases etc.) as well as expensive items from vehicles whether parked on or off campus. Most vandalism instances occur when these items are in plain sight.
Additionally, the LIJ Security Department has increased patrols of the employee and visitor garages as well as 76th Avenue and 263rd Street.
Should you see any suspicious activity, please call 911 or the 105th Precinct at (718) 776-9090. We thank the community members and the 105th Precinct for their diligence and hope our combined efforts will deter any future incidents.

A major rebuilding project has begun on the LIJ Medical Center campus to make way for the new LIJ bed tower and a renovation and expansion project at Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York.
