Babies Alumni — Providing gifts to our new moms; non-demanding fund raising or clerical assistance (Mondays and Thursdays). |

Programs in Zucker Hillside Hospital (a mental health facility)—contact us for details. |

Admissions/Escorts — Volunteers assist with the admissions process and can also escort patients to specific areas. |

Child Life Program — Diversional Activities with our children. Experience working with children recommended—this assignment requires interacting with our in-patients. |

Surgical Waiting Room /Operating Room/Recovery Room — These volunteers provide the needed communication links for patients and families during these stressful events. A volunteer must be reliable, compassionate, capable of communicating well with others, and able to assist in alleviating some of the families’ stress. (Flexible weekday shifts). |

Ante-Partum Program — Volunteers provide contacts, diversional activities for our maternity patients who require long-term bed rest. |

LIJ/Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York Gift shops — Volunteers assist with sales, stock, and purchases. A fun place to volunteer and raise money that goes directly back to the hospitals! A great opportunity for couples to volunteer together. (Flexible shifts, weekends and weekday evenings available.) |

Service Excellence Liaison Program — Volunteers provide visits to our patients, providing social contact, and convey to the patients that we care. Applicants must be very patient, caring, compassionate (weekday hours available). |

The Center for H.O.P.E. — A bereavement program for children who have experienced the loss of a loved one. (Weekday evenings.) |

Family Resource Center — A reference library for families. Located in Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York, family members can locate information regarding their children’s illness. |

NICU Visitor Pass — Volunteers assist with the flow of visitors into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. |

Commerce Bank Long Island Classic Golf Tournament — Volunteers are needed to assist with fund raising during a Senior PGA tournament on Long Island. This event is usually held every summer. Many people volunteer only for this event — contact us for details. |

Reach Out and Read — A literacy program with children in waiting rooms—volunteers bring the joy of reading to our children. (Monday to Friday shifts) |

Oncology Department — Host our patients, make them feel comfortable, offer refreshments and/or conversation. |

Oncology Building Greeter — Provide a warm greeting and needed direction (weekday hours). |

Clerical assignments — Filing, copying, collating, answering phones — available in a variety of Medical departments throughout the campus (Monday to Saturday 9-5pm). |
We also have a wide variety of clerical assignments throughout our campus and beyond; for example, at 1554 Northern Blvd., in our Physical Medicine office or our Pain & Headache Department, Transitions of L.I., Family Consultation Center in Mineola, Dialysis Center on Hillside Ave., Queens.
