Levels of Care

North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System offers many levels of behavioral health care. Options include:

Associated Programs
Programs that offer education and training in specialty areas (i.e. Law and Psychiatry Institute)

Consultation Services
Psychiatric needs of patients with medical illnesses are addressed

Home Care
Comprehensive mental health services to patients of all ages in their own homes

Inpatient Services
Twenty-four hour hospital facility that provides for the evaluation and treatment of patients with acute care needs related to schizophrenia, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and co-existing substance abuse

Intake and Evaluation Services
Telephone and in-person comprehensive evaluations, referrals, and crisis intervention

Outpatient Addiction Treatment Services
Comprehensive programs for clients with substance abuse issues

Outpatient Mental Health Services
Includes individual, family and group therapy as well as medication management

Partial and Day Programs
These programs are for clients who do not require 24 hour hospitalization but who would benefit from more treatment contact than can be provided in a clinic setting

Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Vocational Services
Comprehensive prevocational and vocational programs, supported employment, job coaching. Services help clients address their vocational, educational and social goals to facilitate recovery and a stable return to the community.

Residential Services
Housing in the community for adults with psychiatric disabilities
