Sopranos Star Lorraine Bracco Raises Awareness about Overcoming Depression at North Shore-LIJ’s Sold-Out Women’s Health Conference
GREAT NECK, NY -- Long Island’s Lorraine Bracco, Academy and Emmy Award-nominated actress, star of the hit HBO series The Sopranos and author of the autobiographical On the Couch, was the keynote speaker today at the North Shore-LIJ Health System’s fourth Women’s Health Conference,. Ms. Bracco discussed her personal story of successfully fighting and overcoming clinical depression in an effort to raise awareness of the warning signs. The free, two-day health conference, the largest ever held on Long Island and Queens, attracted more than 1,500 people and featured North Shore-LIJ medical experts discussing the nation's top health concerns of women including heart disease, depression, breast health, cancer, arthritis and many other healthy aging presentations.
