Working in the emergency room has brought Madeleine Fils-Aimé an unexpected sense of excitement and joy. When she walks in every day she knows that whatever the day holds, she’ll be making a difference in someone’s life and that she has the knowledge and skills to do it.

Madeleine has been a nurse for 20 years, with experience in long-term care, community health, medical-surgical and emergency. She’s worked in the ER for about eight years where she serves as a staff nurse in the level 1 trauma center, triaging and stabilizing pediatric, adult and geriatric patients with emergent conditions.

Madeleine says her reward for the hectic and demanding pace is seeing patients more stable and comfortable upon their transfer to the floor or discharge. Not to mention the gratitude of patients and their family members.
