Maureen McClusky

North Shore-LIJ Stern Family and Orzac Centers for Rehabilitation
Ms. McClusky has spent more than 20 years working in a variety of acute, community-based and post-acute healthcare settings. In addition to heading up administrative operations at the Stern Family and Orzac Centers, she is responsible for coordinating senior services for the health system. In that role, Ms. McClusky oversees affiliations with community health partners such as skilled nursing facilities, senior retirement communities and assisted living organizations.
Ms. McClusky joined the health system in 2004 after serving as senior vice president and administrator at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, Bayside, NY. Prior to that, she was vice president of long-term care services at Bergen Regional Medical Center and administrator for the state’s largest skilled nursing facility totaling 691 beds. She also held senior management positions at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Yonkers, NY, and Manhattanville Nursing Care Center, Riverdale, NY.
Ms. McClusky was appointed by the governor to sit on the New York State Department of Health’s (NYSDOH) Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administration. She also serves on the NYSDOH’s Task Force to Improve Medical Care and Direction in Skilled Nursing Facilities.
Ms. McClusky is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and has been recognized with ACHE’s Regents Award. She is a member of the Health Care Leaders of New York Association and the American College of Healthcare Administrators.
Ms. McClusky is assistant professor at Suffolk County Community College, adjunct professor in graduate healthcare administration at Stony Brook University and Hofstra University, and on the faculty of the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University where she lectures in the long-term care administration program.
She holds a Master of Arts degree from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stony Brook University. She is also a registered dietitian and a licensed nursing home administrator in New York and New Jersey.
