Message from the Chairman
Welcome to the Division of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. We are a world-class department uniquely trained to provide care for women who suffer from urinary incontinence, urogenital prolapse and other forms of pelvic problems. Our staff is devoted solely to female pelvic health, offering a comfortable environment for comprehensive evaluation and customized treatment strategies for women.
Dr. Lawrence Lind and Dr. Harvey (Avi) Winkler are fellowship-trained physicians who have completed both an obstetric and gynecology residency as well as a urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery fellowship. Together, they have built the largest and most comprehensive urogynecology practice in the state. The reasons are simple: Our doctors are active both clinically and academically, are at the forefront of research and development and train other physicians in order to advance the treatment and care of women. They, along with the staff of the Division of Urogynecology, provide compassionate and appropriate treatment tailored to each patient’s individual problems and specific goals.
Since it is estimated that 1 in 9 women will require surgery for either urogenital prolapse or urinary incontinence, it is a tremendous asset to women to have the Division of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery available to meet these needs.
I invite you to learn more about the Division of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery here at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
