Monica Latayan, RN, MS, ANP
Director of Nursing Education
Monica Latayan is the director of nursing education, research and practice at North Shore University Hospital. She oversees educational initiatives such as the critical care fellowship, emergency room fellowship, implementation of the caring model and the code of professionalism. She chairs the research committee at North Shore University Hospital and is a member of the North Shore-LIJ Health System research committee.
Monica joined North shore University Hospital in 1988 as a nurse clinician in telemetry. She then became a nurse educator for cardiac services in 1998. In 2004, she was promoted to director of nursing education.
Monica received her bachelor of science in nursing degree from St. Paul College of Manila and her master's and adult nurse practitioner degrees from Adelphi University. She is presently pursuing her doctor of nursing practice degree at Case Western Reserve University.
