HazMat For Healthcare - Operations ( HMH102 )
This advanced course, geared to the hospital decontamination team members, teaches students to use reference books to identify both internal and external hazardous materials products and also helps students understand various decontamination procedures based on incident type. All levels of protective clothing are discussed and the field exercises include donning and doffing procedures, PPE selection, and managing and working in a decontamination line.
Audience: Hospital decontamination teams and fire brigades

Hazardous Materials Awareness for First Responders ( HM201 )
Designed to enable the first responder to recognize and identify a hazardous materials incident in the field, this course will train the student in proper defensive tactics aimed at protecting the responder and the public from contamination and proliferation of the incident. Students are introduced to the DOT Emergency Response Guidebook, a venerable bible for Haz Mat responders, and waybills and dangerous cargo manifests are explained. **This course meets OSHA CFR 1910.120 standards for first responders.

Hazardous Materials Operations for First Responders ( HM202 )
A mid-level course of study for first responders, this course will teach the student to utilize several resources in the identification of hazardous materials projects. This course will review the identification and recognition of transportation and fixed-sight hazards, proper PPE selection, as well as doffing and donning procedures for protective clothing. Upon completion of this course, students will have a thorough understanding of respiratory protection and will be comfortable working with a self-contained breathing apparatus. Study will culminate in a complete field decontamination exercise utilizing level B protection. **This course of study meets or exceeds OSHA CFR 1910.120 standards for first responders.
Audience: All hospital personnel, geared toward security as well as ED staff

Hazardous Materials Technician ( HM203 )
This advanced course for hazardous materials team members who are responsible for the mitigation of a hazardous materials release will focuses on the Incident Command System and strategies for the control and confinement of such incidents. Topics include identification and classification of hazardous materials, information sources, containers, PPE selection, Incident Command System, and hot zone operations. Both field and classroom sessions comprise this 40-hour intense course of study. The graduate of this course will meet all OSHA CFR 1910.120 standards for the HazMat Technician.

Weapons of Mass Destruction Responder - Awareness ( WMD101 )
This course is designed to provide students with an overview of domestic preparedness and to introduce the student to the challenges unleashed when a terrorist event involves chemical or biological agents and/or nuclear material (NBC), collectively known as weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to define the nature of a threat, identify signs and symptoms of NBC poisoning, recognize the types of dissemination devices that might be used for employing NBC, and be able to describe the proper response actions for emergency responders at a suspected or actual NBC site.

Weapons of Mass Destruction for the Health Care Provider ( WMD200 )
This course is designed to provide health care providers with an overview of the challenges unleashed when a terrorist event involves chemical or biological agents and/or nuclear material (NBC), collectively known as weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Current threat assessments will be covered as well as treatment modalities and the clinical presentations of these agents. **This is for health care providers only

Introduction to Emergency Management ( EM200 )
This introductory course covering principles of emergency management is highly recommended for healthcare administrators. Topics include potential health system emergencies, activation criteria of a hospital's emergency management system, the recognition of internal and external risks and threats, and the principles of incident planning and management.
Audience: All hospital executives, administrators, department leaders.

Incident Commander Development ( EM301 )
This course offering will expand on the principles of the HEICS System, with a strong emphasis on the roles and responsibilities of the Incident Commander. The hospital administrator will learn when and how to activate the HEICS System. Critical decision making, interacting within a multi-agency command structure, and the execution of hospital pre-plans as well as managing the available on- duty personnel effectively will be included. A tabletop exercise of a WMD Incident is also included in this course.

Community Education Seminar ( EM401 )
This lecture is geared towards addressing student concerns and allaying their fears in our post 9/11 society. This brief lecture, which addresses community preparedness as well as a brief description of how chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons work includes a synopsis of why and how the terrorist attacks occurred. A question and answer session comprises a large component of this program, which has been found to ease many of our children's concerns in today's society.

Community Education Seminar ( EM402 )
This lecture is geared towards the school educator, in elementary, middle and high school. This lecture is designed to give the teacher vital background necessary to answer many of the tough questions and concerns that students bring to the classroom about today's society and the events of 9/11/01. A basic and fundamental awareness is taught about the how and why of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, as well as a detailed explanation of world events leading to the attacks of 9/11. The lecture will also include the steps community providers have taken to address future needs of the community. A question and answer session follows.
