Social Work

Social work services are available to assist patients on the antepartum and postpartum units in a variety of ways. Social workers provide psychosocial counseling to new mothers who are experiencing stressful situations before or after the birth of a child; guidance for families who are having financial problems; and referrals to resources within the hospital and the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, and those based in the community. All of our social workers are licensed clinical social workers. To reach a social worker, speak to your nurse. After discharge, you may call (516) 562-8415.
