What is Neuropsychological Testing?
Neuropsychological tests employ standardized questions to assess how the brain uses reasoning, language, memory and problem solving. This test can provide helpful information in the diagnosis and management of epilepsy. The test results will help determine a person’s strengths and weaknesses and provide a baseline to measure functioning after surgery. Neuropsychologists who specialize in epilepsy can interpret these tests to help determine where a patient’s epileptic focus may be, and also to determine how a patient may be cognitively affected after epilepsy surgery.
