The neuroscience continuum at North Shore University Hospital includes a 40-bed unit and 6-bed stroke unit as well as a 16-bed neurosurgical intensive care unit. The department is part of the Cushing Neuroscience Institutes, the mission of which is to provide state-of-the-art medical care while contributing to advances in research and education. From this can come an improved understanding of the causes, prevention and treatment of diseases.
