BETHPAGE, NY— The North Shore-LIJ Medical Group  has opened an Immediate Care Center at 4300 Hempstead Turnpike in Bethpage to treat children and adults for non-life threatening problems that can be managed in an ambulatory setting. No appointment is necessary at the Center, which operates weekdays into the evening, weekends and holidays. When required, the Center also offers emergency transport to a hospital.

The Immediate Care Center in Bethpage serves as an extension to community physicians’ offices, managing pressing medical issues from allergic reactions and minor fractures, strains and sprains to travel immunizations and asthma attacks. A wide range of services are available, and the center houses five exam rooms, a digital x-ray room, a point-of-care testing lab, as well as phlebotomy and full laboratory testing.

Spanning approximately 5,000 square feet, the facility is staffed by eight full-time employees, including a supervisor and medical director, and a team of emergency medicine physicians, radiology technologists and medical assistants, all committed to providing quality, professional treatment in a welcoming environment. All staff members are board-certified emergency medicine physicians who communicate directly with patients’ primary-care providers to coordinate treatment and follow-up.

The Immediate Care Center treats patients of all ages and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On-site parking is available.
