North Shore-LIJ Announces Additional H1N1 Vaccination Clinics
The North Shore-LIJ Health System today announced four additional clinics where the H1N1 vaccine will be distributed for free as part of the health system’s partnership with Nassau County.
- Sunday, December 6 and December 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Town of North Hempstead’s Clinton Martin Park, 1650 Marcus Avenue, New Hyde Park;
- Wednesday, December 2, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Town of Hempstead’s Levittown Hall, 201 Levittown Parkway, Hicksville; and
- Tuesday, December 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Town of Oyster Bay’s Majorie Post Park, 451 Unqua Road, Massapequa.
In the coming weeks, North Shore-LIJ will be scheduling H1N1 vaccination clinics in the towns of Hempstead, North Hempstead and Oyster Bay. To find the latest information, go to www.northshorelij.com/flu.
The H1N1 vaccine will be distributed to individuals who meet the criteria established by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with a focus on:
- Pregnant women;
- People who live with or take care of infants younger than six months, including parents, siblings and day care providers;
- Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel;
- People six months through 24 years of age; and
- People age 25 through 64 with a chronic illness or weakened immune system.
