Orthopaedics Residency at LIJMC

Thank you for your interest in our program! I believe that the Orthopaedic Surgery Program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center has much to offer you as you embark on an exciting career in this specialty.

Our goal is to enhance your education experience by offering a full time faculty of attending physicians who are nationally and internationally known in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery. Our learning environment emphasizes the six general competencies and fosters independent thinking. In addition, we have a strong research experience and are fortunate to have our own Orthopaedic Research Laboratory.

Four residents are selected each year to participate in this five-year Orthopaedic Surgery Program. The size of our program affords our residents a broad diversity and high volume in clinical experience. Residents are given the opportunity for increasing responsibility as they gain experience and knowledge for each rotation.

I invite you to browse our website for more detailed information on our program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

Nicholas A. Sgaglione, MD
