- Family Violence Research Program studies the consequences of family violence on children, adolescents and young adults, and disseminates study results. A NIMH funded study is being conducted.
- Childhood Trauma and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Research and Services Program develops empirically supported interventions for childhood traumatic stress (including impact of 9-11), and provides professional training and public education on trauma exposure and interventions. A Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services-supported Adolescent Trauma Treatment Development Center is ongoing. PTSD research in at risk populations including battered mothers and children exposed to domestic violence, sexually abused children and adolescents is also being conducted.
- Children of Divorce Research Program studies the impact of separation and divorce on the mental health of children and adolescents, and investigates the interactional effects of child abuse and divorce.
- The Forensic Program of the Child and Adolescent Division of The Zucker Hillside and Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York has been awarded federally funded research grants to study children with explosive conduct problems, treatments for impulsive, aggressive youth, and community based treatment for sexually acting out children.
