On-Gong For Well Being

Come to experience the ancient practice of Qi-Gong that includes healing postures, movements, breathing techniques and meditation. All exercises can be done sitting or standing. Decrease stress, reduce the side effects of your chemotherapy or radiation therapy and alleviate discomfort or pain.

Creative Arts Workshop

An art program for anyone undergoing cancer treatment. No artistic ability necessary! This class will help participants learn to find strength & hope, communicate without words, connect with the artist within and manage stress. Supplies are included.

Stress Reduction Class

This class is for Oncology patients and their family/friends. This class will help you learn how to maintain as normal a lifestyle as possible while teaching stress management techniques to decease the stress that accompanies illness as well as ordinary life. Smoking Cessation for People With Cancer

Exclusively for cancer survivors with any type of cancer, past or present, this is a Stop Smoking Class. Funded by a grant for cancer survivors by NYS Department of Health, this class will include free patches, free medications and free refreshments!

Breast Cancer Workshop-Lebed Method: Focus on Healing – “Move, Soothe and Heal”

The Lebed Method is a therapeutic exercise program for women who have had any kind of breast surgery, node dissection, radiation, chemotherapy or suffer from chronic fatigue. Women can be helped to regain and maintain range of motion, reduce the risk of lymphedema, prevent frozen shoulder, decrease depression and provide mutual support.

Strength to Strength

A Breast Cancer Wellness and Aftercare Program designed for all breast cancer patients and survivors, in all stages of treatment and recovery (with physician clearance) is designed to improve the mind, body and spirit. This course is a 16 week, customized program led by specifically trained professionals in the areas of yoga, tai chi, meditation and reiki, range of motion, aerobic, cardiovascular and aquatic exercise. Included are 10 hours of guided physical exercise, 4 hours of nutritional counseling, 6 hours of group support for survivors and their families, 2 educational risk reduction programs and access to the Sid Jacobson JCC’s Sports and Fitness and Aquatic Center.
