Fourth-year medical students function as a member of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases clinical team that includes a pediatric infectious diseases faculty member, at times a pediatric infectious diseases fellow and one to three pediatric residents. The medical student sees new consultations and presents them to the clinical team. There is a curriculum for the rotation and a book of short articles on pediatric infectious diseases core topics is given to the student. Each student prepares a short talk on a topic decided upon jointly by the student and attending physician.
