| Traditional cognitive behavioral methods are used in conjunction with computerized exposure to the feared stimulus, all taking place within the therapist’s office. The computerized virtual environment is complete with a multimedia experience (visual, auditory and tactile) that simulates the feared situation, allowing the cognitive-behavioral strategies to desensitize the fear, as they would in a conventional exposure therapy.
