Radiology at Plainview Hospital
The Department of Radiology at Plainview Hospital provides imaging services for the patients, physicians and members of the surrounding communities. These services are available to inpatients as well as outpatients. The Department of Radiology is well-equipped to perform routine and specialized procedures.
Recent upgrades to the department include state-of-the-art GE ultrasound equipment and GE interventional procedure suite including a recovery room. We provide other services, including computerized tomography (CT), nuclear medicine, mammography and diagnostic X-ray procedures. The Department of Radiology consists of board-certified radiologists who specialize in areas such as pediatrics, imaging, MRI and interventional procedures. All of the radiologic technologists are registered and licensed by the State of New York. Reporting of results to physicians is now instantaneous, due to modern technology. Physicians receive immediate written reports as procedures are reviewed and interpreted by the radiologist. In the summer of 2004, a state-of-the-art General Electric MRI suite will be available for both inpatients and outpatients. Groundbreaking should occur in early April 2004, with scanning availability in late summer of the same year. The Department of Radiology at Plainview Hospital can service outpatient needs as required and supports the Emergency Department 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
