Public Reporting

At North Shore-LIJ we are proud of our achievements, but recognize the need to continually improve.

Our Core Mission

Improving quality of care is the core mission of North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System. Releasing performance data is our way of informing our patients of how we are achieving that goal. We believe that as consumers of healthcare, patients should make informed decisions. One way to facilitate that information transfer is to promote transparency of outcomes.

Raising the Bar

Public reporting of healthcare performance outcomes has been linked to improved quality over time. This is true in pneumonia care, heart failure, heart attack, cardiac surgery and angioplasty to name a few conditions and procedures. We believe that this connection will prove stronger over time. That is why we firmly believe in the principle of public reporting. We have raised the bar for our team of 40,000 employees and 6,000 voluntary physicians in order to serve you better.

The information contained in this section is the beginning of a series of performance reports that will be updated regularly .
