Structure

The Administrative Fellowship Program is a 11-month program consisting of facility and departmental rotations, project management, one-on-one mentoring, staff interactions and attendance at various meetings and events.

The administrative fellow is assigned a member of the health system's senior leadership team as a mentor/advisor for the duration of the fellowship.

The rotations expose the fellow to a variety of areas within the health system and healthcare. For example, fellows that select finance as their concentration will devote approximately three months of the year to finance and rotate through clinical, ancillary and other services for the other nine months. The fellows work with their mentor/advisor to become familiar with the operation of the health system through experiential, action-based learning. This means that they take an active role in meetings and projects within the health system.

The program runs from July to June to coincide with the academic year. Applications are due by October 8, 2010 to allow time for review and interviews.
