Training Programs at The Zucker Hillside Hospital

Training and education of the next generation of practitioners in mental health has long been a predominant activity of The Zucker Hillside Hospital. Zucker Hillside's psychiatry residency training program is currently among the the largest and most prestigious in the country. With over 180 medical students each year, The Zucker Hillside Hospital serves as one of the largest medical student clinical training sites in the U.S.
Our fellowship programs in child and adolescent psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, and neuroscience research are among the largest and academically strongest in the country.
The Department of Psychology sponsors psychology externship, internship, and postdoctoral fellowship training programs for those enrolled in doctoral graduate psychology studies or for those who have completed their doctoral studies.
The hospital trains Social Work students across the full continuum of services, including inpatient, outpatient , day hospital, substance abuse and emergency psychiatry programs.
The Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation has affiliations with 24 universities nationwide, providing students with clinical training in occupational therapy, rehabilitation counseling and recreation therapy.
