North Shore University Hospital is a designated Level I Trauma Center as defined by New York State Department of Health trauma standards. We offer the highest level of care to the most critically injured patients in the area.
Our experienced teams of trauma surgeons and nurses utilize advanced diagnostic and surgical technology to care for more than 1,000 injured patients each year. Surgical specialists, including those in orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, pediatrics and vascular surgery provide expert care within a matter of minutes to save lives. Diagnostic radiologists are an integral part of our multidisciplinary team for CT scans and X-ray interpretation.
