The Center for Tobacco Control has created two documentaries designed to help patients to stop smoking and to help educate other medical professionals on how to treat their patients who smoke.
4000 is about tobacco addiction. The documentary, filmed at the Center for Tobacco Control in Great Neck New York, discusses how to overcome the addiction to cigarettes, available treatments and testimonials from clients who have successfully quit. The documentary gets its name from the 4000 chemicals contained in cigarettes. 43 are known cancer-causing (carcinogenic) compounds and 400 are poisonous. The 4000 chemicals include nicotine, tar and carbon monoxide, as well as formaldehyde, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, arsenic and DDT. 4000 is hosted by Fran Capo, comedienne, adventurer, author, actress and motivational speaker.

"I Could Have Been Five Feet" is a compelling documentary featuring a young woman, formerly an adolescent smoker. Although smoking for only six years, Meghan chronicles the physical and psychological impact smoking had on her early life. She describes her intense and prolonged struggles with quitting and speaks with other young people about this powerful and life-threatening addiction. We hope that her story will influence other young people when they are faced with the decision to initiate smoking.
