What Are the Harvey Cushing Institutes of Neuroscience?
In a historic initiative, the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System has created the Harvey Cushing Institutes of Neuroscience. We have organized our services into institutes, programs and centers that focus our world-class staff and resources on the various aspects of neuroscience — the study of the brain, nervous system and spine.
Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art medical care while contributing to advances in research and education from which an improved understanding of the causes of neurological diseases can come.
We are honored to have the name of Harvey Cushing, father of neuroscience, associated with our institutes.
