Director, Cardiac Services

William O'Connell serves as director of cardiac services. He joined North Shore University Hospital in 1998 as a staff nurse in cardiac telemetry and has spent his entire career in cardiology. Mr. O’Connell began working in management as a patient care manager in 2001 and became assistant director of the cardiac catheterization lab in 2004. In 2005, he was promoted to associate director of cardiac services and assumed a larger role in all daily operations. In 2007, he was promoted to director and currently oversees all daily operations of cardiac services at North Shore University Hospital.

Mr. O’Connell received his bachelor of science degree in psychology from Hofstra University. He continued his education and graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science in Nursing from Molloy College in 1998. Mr. O’Connell is currently working toward a master's degree in business administration from Hofstra University.
