Effective wound care is about treating a whole patient, not just a wound. That’s our philosophy at North Shore–LIJ Health System.

At our wound care locations, we treat all acute and chronic wounds, including those caused by diabetes, vascular disease, surgery, radiation, trauma, burns and pressure. Our goal is not only to heal these wounds, but also to prevent their recurrence and preserve limbs.

Because treating hard-to-heal wounds is the sole purpose of our wound care centers, we devote the time, thought and skill to our patients with the goal of improved healing. Our specialization and our staff’s advanced, ongoing training in the latest technologies and medications also gives us greater experience in evaluating wounds and determining optimal treatment methods for them, including hyperbaric chambers.
