The Stern Family Center for Extended Care

The North Shore University Hospital Stern Family Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation is a division of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, specializing in short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and extended care services.

Established in 1989, The North Shore University Hospital Stern Family Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation and the Division of Geriatric Medicine at North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) were created to address the health needs of the aging and short-term rehabilitation populations and to provide a continuum of care for the patients served. In recent years, The North Shore University Hospital Stern Family Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation has responded to the needs of the community and the health system by extending its services to a younger population who can benefit from its expert care.
