Distance Learning
The Center for Learning and Innovation, in partnership with eCornell, offers distance learning classes to physicians, managers and future leaders within the health system.
Established and wholly owned by Cornell University, eCornell has the most comprehensive online, professional and executive development curriculum offered by any top-20 university in the Unites States.
There are 23 different certificate series offered from eCornell, each focusing on specific skills and competencies.
The series vary in length from four courses comprising approximately 24 hours of learning (Executive Leadership) to 12 courses comprising approximately 72 hours of learning (Business Leadership Skills) to eight courses comprising approximately 120 hours of learning (Master Certificate in Foodservice Management).

How to Register
Once you have decided upon the course(s) you would like to take and discussed with your supervisor; please follow the process listed below:
- Have your direct supervisor e-mail Dr. Alan Cooper, Vice President of The Center for Learning & Innovation, stating:
- The supervisor (full name) gives you, the employee (full name), permission to register for eCornell course/courses.
- State the full course name(s) and course number(s).
- Once Dr. Alan Cooper receives the e-mail and agrees, he will notify you and your manger to go back on-line and register for the course(s) you would like to take.
- After you register on-line Dr. Alan Cooper will then receive an email from eCornell asking him to approve your registration. Once Dr. Alan Cooper approves the registration on-line you are officially registered for the course(s).
