Jonathan P.S. Knisely, MD

Jonathan P.S. Knisely, MD is the Chief, Division of Radio surgery and Stereotactic Program and Co-Director for Radio surgery and Stereotactic Radiation Therapy in the Department of Radiation Medicine for the North Shore- LIJ Health System.

Dr. Knisely received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts and Science from Yale University. His Radiation Oncology training was at the University of Toronto’s program at Princess Margaret Hospital and Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Center. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Radiation Oncology.

Dr. Knisely comes to us from the Yale University School of Medicine and the Yale Cancer Center where he was an Associate Professor in the Department of therapeutic Radiology. He served as the Director of the Stereotactic Radio surgery Program and Co-Director of the Yale- New Haven Hospital Gamma Knife Center since 2006.

Dr. Knisely has over 72 peer review publications. He lectures nationally and internationally on stereotactic radiation therapy and serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics, the premier journal for radiation oncology. He has been honored and recognized for his work in radiation oncology for many years.
