Huntington, NY - Karen C. Dodson, Esq., of East Northport has been elected a Trustee of Huntington Hospital. Ms. Dodson is Managing Counsel at Travelers Insurance Company in Melville. She joined Travelers in 1999 as an attorney in the Staff Counsel organization. In November 2008 she joined the Auto Claim Legal Team. She has leadership responsibility for the Metro First Party Group with offices in Melville, New York City, and Morristown, New Jersey.

Ms. Dodson’s group includes 92 attorneys and support staff who handle New York and New Jersey No Fault and Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist claims. They also provide coverage, regulatory, appellate, and general advice to the Albany, Buffalo, Melville, and Morristown Claim Service Centers.

Ms. Dodson is a graduate of Syracuse University and Hofstra Law School. Prior to joining Travelers she was Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. She also served as Special Assistant Corporation Counsel with the Administration for Children’s Services, where she prosecuted child abuse and neglect cases. She later worked as an associate with the medical malpractice defense firm Costello, Shea and Gaffney.

Ms. Dodson is a member of the National Bar Association and serves as Regional Director. She is also a member of Suffolk County Jack and Jill of America and the Wheatley Heights Mother’s Club, as well as Amistad Long Island Black Bar Association. She and her husband, Darryl Dodson, are the parents of two children.
