For Patients & Families

Patients and Families

Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York is designed exclusively for children and their families. Caring for children includes providing them with a warm, comforting, homelike setting. That’s why every aspect of our spacious open building is child oriented - from the fold-out beds for parents to the fully staffed playrooms on each floor. Our caregivers are dedicated to providing the most skilled and sensitive treatment for all your child’s health care needs. Our goal is to help children feel comfortable, safe and stress-free.

At Cohen Children's Medical Center, family-centered care is an essential part of each child’s experience. Our family-centered approach to health care involves patients, families and healthcare professionals forming a partnership that benefits everyone. A family member is anyone whom our patients regard as significant in their lives. Family members are not considered “visitors” but essential caregivers and participants in decisions that affect the total care received by the child.
