The Division of Medical Genetics diagnoses and participates in the care of children and adults with inherited and sporadic genetic disorders. This includes chromosomal disorders and those caused by single genes. Evaluations are conducted by a medical geneticist and a genetic counselor. Children and adults with problems such as (but not limited to) mental retardation, autism, birth defects, inborn errors of metabolism and hearing loss are seen.
