Q. What types of developmental specialists are in the Division?
A: The Division has a large number of developmental-behavioral pediatricians on staff, each with expertise in the evaluation and management of a range of developmental and/or behavioral concerns and conditions. The staff also includes a developmental neurologist, clinical psychologists, a pediatric nurse practitioner, and a nurse clinician.
Q. Who receives the results of this evaluation?
A: We will share the results of the evaluation with you. A consultation summary or letter is generally sent to the child's pediatrician if he or she referred the child for evaluation. Results are not shared with schools, outside agencies or other professionals or organizations unless you specifically request this, or unless the evaluation is requested and paid for by an outside agency.
Q. Do I have to involve my child's school, preschool, or daycare?
A: No, though it is generally recommended. It is possible to evaluate a child without involving the staff at his or her school, preschool, or daycare; however, it is often helpful to have information from teachers or other individuals that are familiar with your child.
Q. What insurance do you accept?
A: The Division accepts some but not all insurance. You should contact the Division directly to determine if we accept your insurance.
