What to Expect

Patients undergo a complete history and physical examination. They are asked to bring in a first morning urine sample for testing. A urinalysis is done on a fresh sample of urine obtained in the clinic. Families are encouraged to bring all records and X-rays from prior evaluations to their initial visit.

Once a diagnosis has been made, our physicians will determine the best course of treatment for your child.  The treatment plan may include:

• Renal dietary counseling
• Personal and family counseling
• Hemodialysis
• Peritoneal dialysis
• Percutaneous renal biopsies
• Hemoperfusion
• Hemofiltration
