The Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset is a recognized leader in its field. Our surgeons are at the forefront of treating cardiac patients with the most innovative approaches to open heart surgery. Services provided include the most advanced treatments in cardiac surgery, such as a minimally invasive approach, use of radial artery grafts, endoscopic vein harvesting, off-pump surgery and the aortic center  using state of the art technology- endovascular graft. The department coordinates the care of the patient before surgery through the recovery period with the assistance of  many support programs.

Our department has added two new centers The Minimally Invasive and Robotic Heart Surgery Center and The Thoracic Aortic Surgery Center. We also specialize in pulmonary embolectomies.
