Marie Frazzitta, NP
Marie Frazzitta knows that the foundation of her job is a relationship with her patients based on trust and communication.
A certified diabetes educator, Marie is the clinical coordinator of the Center For Diabetes In Pregnancy and program manager of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Her goal is to obtain positive maternal and fetal outcomes in women who have diabetes during pregnancy.
Marie knows that changing a person’s habits is a delicate process and one that involves getting to know your patient and listening to the story she has to tell about her life and the ways that diabetes impacts her. The caring that nursing requires brings comfort to women who are in a situation that can bring to the fore their concerns, belief systems, cultural influences and coping skills.
Marie says that she feels blessed to play a key role in helping to create a safe and supportive environment in which patients can develop sufficient trust to enable them to learn, build confidence and face internal issues that will empower them to implement diabetes self-management skills.
