Nursing Fellowship Program
The Nursing Fellowship Program is designed to recruit and retain highly skilled nurses. The program consists of web-based training, lecture-style classes, simulation and direct patient care.
The web-based portion of the program consists of didactic material presented in a self-paced, systematic approach. The nurse fellow then takes corresponding competency exams online. A nurse educator reinforces this material with formal lectures, patient simulation and clinical rotations. The Nurse Fellow additionally works with a preceptor known as the associate fellow. This relationship allows individual attention to the nurse fellow’s learning needs.
By providing a multi-phased curriculum, the program acquaints new nurses to acute care and provides a venue for professional growth and socialization. From it, the nurse fellow obtains an unparalleled depth and breadth of knowledge, balanced by extensive firsthand experience.
