Behavioral Health

One of the priorities of the health system is to provide high quality services to the behavioral health population. To this end, the Quality Management Department provides leadership and evaluates risk areas within the behavioral health inpatient and outpatient areas.

Behavioral Health activities include (but are not limited to):

  • Integrating the shared knowledge of each of the member hospitals to provide advice and counsel regard to various improvement initiatives
  • Serving as a forum for reviewing quality issues and providing oversight for the improvement process
  • Supporting data collection and the change process
  • Providing on-site support for continuous quality improvement
  • Assisting in tracers and mock surveys for continued readiness for regulatory bodies
  • Providing support to regulatory changes that affect mental health providers
  • Monitoring of patient satisfaction scores, compliments, and complaints to ensure patients their North Shore-LIJ experience is a positive one
