Franklin Hospital

A part of the North Shore-LIJ Cancer Institute, Franklin Hospital is a 305-bed community hospital that offers a comprehensive array of programs and services to patients from Nassau and Southeastern Queens Counties.

The Cancer Program at Franklin Hospital offers diagnostic, therapeutic and palliative treatment to adult patients and is approved by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Community Hospital Cancer Program. A dedicated 36-bed oncology unit is staffed by nurses specially trained in chemotherapy administration.

Franklin Hospital is also home to the Hospice Care Network at Franklin, Nassau County’s first hospital-based hospice and palliative Care Center, featuring a specialized 12-bed unit.  Private rooms, home-like décor and parlors for family respite create a peaceful, dignified environment. Franklin’s Pain Management Center offers the latest techniques and medical options to diagnose and treat pain. The center offers a comprehensive a pain management program for oncology patients with acute and chronic pain.          

The Oncology Services Program at Franklin Hospital encompasses the departments of Surgery, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology Consultation and  Pain Management and includes Full-Service Diagnostic Imaging such as Mammography, MRI, CT Scans and Ultrasound; Cancer Treatment including Surgical Procedures involving lung, colon, bladder, breast, prostate and skin; Chemotherapy Treatment and Blood Transfusions; and Pain Management Services.
