Huntington Hospital is a 408-bed community hospital with inpatient services in medical/surgical, pediatrics, intensive and critical care, maternity, as well as ambulatory surgery. The hospital provides an array of inpatient and outpatient cancer services and centers, including a Women’s Health Center, an endoscopy suite and a full range of radiation oncology services. Huntington Hiospital is a part of the North Shore-LIJ Cancer Institute.
Huntington Hospital’s Don Monti Cancer Center is certified as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The hospital’s Radiology Department provides a wide array of diagnostic services including: Computed Tomography (CT or CAT scans); Mammography and Breast Care Center Counseling; Stereotactic Breast Biopsies; Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI); and Interventional Radiology. Cancer Treatment Services include Chemotherapy; Biological Response Modifiers; Radiation Therapy; Surgery; a Lymphedema Program; and treatments at the Center for Pain Management.
The hospital’s cancer prevention programs include screenings for Prostate, Skin, Colorectal, Oral and Women’s Reproductive Cancers. Huntington Hospital’s support services and groups include a full-time, dedicated Oncology Social Worker; Bereavement, Breast Cancer, Nicotine Anonymous, Ostomy and Prostate Cancer support groups; the Sisters Network (an African-American Breast Cancer Survivorship group); and a number of programs sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
