Plainview Hospital is a 211-bed community hospital that provides an array of cancer care services and offers both ambulatory and inpatient treatment for patients with a wide variety of cancers. Plainview Hospital’s Cancer Program is approved by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Community Hospital Cancer Program.
As part of the North Shore-LIJ Cancer Institute, Plainview Hospital has access to clinical trials and special surgical and radiation techniques. In addition, they offer both ambulatory and inpatient treatment for patients with a wide variety of cancers. The Oncology Unit at Plainview Hospital is staffed with oncology-certified nurses who are dedicated to providing their patients with individualized care.
The Department of Radiology at Plainview Hospital provides diagnostic imaging services, available to inpatients as well as outpatients. These treatments include the use of CT Scans, Mammography, MRIs, Nuclear Medicine, Radiography and Ultrasound.
Plainview Hospital has a variety of cancer services that help diagnose as well as provide treatment and supportive care, including chemotherapy, pathology, radiology, complementary medicine, pain management services, social work, hospice, religious support, physical therapy and nutritional support.
The hospital’s relationship with Hospice Care Network allows the hospital to work with the terminally ill patient in an environment that provides comfort, relief of symptoms and support to the patient and family. In addition, patients can receive terminal care at home with hospice care support.
