Soft Tissue Sarcoma
Soft tissue sarcoma is a cancer that begins in the muscle, fat, fibrous tissue, blood vessels or other supporting tissue of the body.
As with all types of cancer, the Cancer Institute at North Shore-LIJ takes a multidisciplinary approach to treat patients with soft tissue sarcoma. The treatment team consists of medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, oncology nurses and social workers, who work together to provide the highest quality of care and expertise in the diagnosis, treatment and support to people with this disease.
