THE KIWANIS PEDIATRIC TRAUMA CENTER

The Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center provides extensive medical programs to treat traumatic injury, the most common cause of death in children. Medical transport to the hospital, diagnosis, and care are provided by the staff of North Shore-LIJ Health System. Training and education to health care personnel & pre-hospital health care providers has long been the priority of North Shore-LIJ. In addition, through community outreach programs, the System offers accident prevention programs to lessen the chances of traumatic injury in children.

The center is supported by the many clubs of the Kiwanis New York District and also by North Shore University Hospital/Manhasset’s Departments of Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics and Surgery.
