North Shore-LIJ Health System is pleased to introduce The Bohlsen Women’s Imaging Center. The Center offers you a comprehensive range of breast imaging services in a comfortable, spa-like environment. Our professional and compassionate staff, state-of-the-art digital technology and convenient scheduling help minimize your anxiety and give you peace of mind.

Through the North Shore-LIJ Health System, you have access to the largest group of fellowship-trained radiologists on Long Island. Through our computer imaging system (PACS), your images can be sent to consulting radiologists with the highest level of interpretive skills to assure you get the most timely, accurate recommendations for follow up care.

In addition to providing all digital mammography with Computer Assisted Diagnosis, our center now offers the latest emerging technology in mammography – digital breast tomosynthesis (3D mammography). The 3D mammogram is currently performed as a complement to the standard digital mammogram as clinically appropriate. All images are obtained at the same time on the same mammography unit. Your mammogram experience remains unchanged.

Our certified mammography technologists will put you at ease before and during your examination. They are experienced with positioning and will make you as comfortable as possible. Our experienced radiologists will answer all your questions and provide complete information about our findings and your options. Your results will be promptly sent to your doctor for further discussion.

Directions

From the Southern State Parkway, take exit 43 onto Islip Avenue/Route 111 heading south. At the end, turn right onto Main Street/Route 27A heading west. At the first traffic light, turn left onto South Bay Avenue. The entrance to the parking lot is immediately on your right.
