Dr. Cynthia Harden, Chief, Division of Epilepsy and Electroencephalography, Cushing Neuroscience Institute, comments on a study that discusses the success of a device called an autoinjector, used in the treatment of prolonged seizures.
Using an autoinjector device to deliver anti-seizure drugs into muscle is a fast, safe and effective way to treat status epilepticus, a prolonged type of seizure that lasts longer than five minutes, researchers report.
