A Floral Park Family’s Bout with Brain Aneurysms Inspires Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project

Jake Early, a 17-year-old Life Scout in Troop 482 in Floral Park, is trying to attain Eagle Scout status, the highest rank in Boy Scouting. To be considered, Jake has to complete an Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project and has chosen brain aneurysm awareness in honor of his aunt, who passed away of a brain aneurysm in 2002. In 2008, Jake’s grandmother also suffered from a brain aneurysm and survived, thanks to Avi Setton, MD, chief of interventional neuroradiology at the Cushing Neuroscience Institute’s Brain Aneurysm Center at North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) in Manhasset....
